Can we talk about how much cheaper Lisbon got after I stopped eating near the main square

I spent maybe 15 euros a meal there last year, but this trip I walked 10 minutes out and got the same stuff for under 5. Has anyone else found a city where a short walk cuts the price in half?

Tell me about it, I had the exact same shock in Rome. Paid 18 euros for a sad plate of pasta by the Trevi Fountain, then found the same dish for 6 euros on a side street locals actually use. Why do we always fall for the tourist trap first?

Honestly holly_young35, is it really that bad? You got a story out of it and ate pasta near a famous fountain. Sometimes paying extra for the spot is part of the fun, even if the food is just okay.
