My rice cooker broke mid-cook last Tuesday - salvage the half-done rice or toss it?
I was making a big batch of rice for the week when the cooker just died, leaving me with mushy on top and crunchy on bottom. I tried finishing it in a pot on the stove, but it came out weird - has anyone else dealt with a gadget failure messing up their meal plan like this?

Mine did that too back in February - I was making jasmine rice for a Thai curry. I ended up turning the whole mess into a fried rice situation. I just tossed it in a hot pan with some leftover chicken, frozen peas, and soy sauce. The crunchy bits actually gave it a nice texture, and the mushy parts soaked up the sauce. Idk, maybe it's just me but I've saved a few failed batches that way since then.
