Was dead wrong about fiberglass rebar until I used it on a job

I used to think fiberglass rebar was just hype, figured steel had been working fine for 100 years. Then a customer in Tampa wanted it for a retaining wall near the coast, and after 8 months there is zero rust bleed or cracking. Has anyone else switched materials based on location and had the results change their mind?

Used glass bars on a marina dock last spring, no corrosion even in brackish water.

Started using fiberglass rebar for a seawall job down in Naples last year, same result no rust bleed at all. That coastal salt air will eat steel alive, so if you're within a mile of the water it's worth the switch.
