Thought my friend was nuts for talking to her plants until I saw the results

My friend in Austin has always chatted with her indoor garden, and I figured it was just a silly habit. She gave me a struggling pothos clipping about 3 months ago and told me to try it, so I started mumbling to it during my night shift waterings. The thing went from two sad leaves to a full, trailing vine over my kitchen window. I'm still not sure if it's the carbon dioxide or just better care, but the growth is real. Has anyone else had a plant respond to something you thought was total nonsense?

Honestly I was the same way, thought it was total woo-woo stuff. My roommate got me to try it on my spider plant that just would not put out new babies, and I started giving it a little pep talk every time I watered. Ngl, within a month it had like three new shoots. Maybe it's just the regular attention making us notice what they need, but I'm not questioning it anymore.

Okay, I'm sold. I guess I'll go whisper sweet nothings to my sad looking pothos. If it dies anyway, at least it heard some kind words first.
