My own retro page got hit by a 1998 bug I forgot existed

I run a small tribute site for old radio shows and last week my contact form started dumping junk into my inbox. Took me 4 hours to realize the script had a hardcoded date check that broke after March 31st, 2024. Anyone else have ancient code habits sneak up on them?

Oh man, that's brutal. My old guestbook script had a counter that reset to zero every time the server clock hit midnight, so I'd log in each morning to see 1,476 of the same "test" entry. Took me a week to figure out I'd accidentally typed the epoch date formula backwards in 2003. Classic me, future me pays the price.
