Just found a website that tracks every single abandoned gas station along Route 66 since 1985
I was looking up info on a 1967 Mustang I'm restoring and somehow stumbled onto this site. Some dude in Oklahoma has been photographing and mapping every abandoned gas station on the old Route 66 for almost 40 years. There's like 300+ entries with dates, locations, and even notes on what each one sold back in the day. Half the links still work too. Honestly, who has the time for this? But I just spent 2 hours on it instead of working on the car. Has anyone else found a hyper-specific site like this that you can't stop scrolling through?

You know a guy who found a site documenting every rest stop bathroom in the Midwest?

Jumped on a road trip blog a few years back when my car broke down in Iowa and I needed a clean place to wait it out... found this one called "Rest Stops of I-80" that had photos and reviews of every single bathroom from Ohio to Nebraska. Turned out the guy who ran it had been documenting them for like 10 years, rating toilet paper quality, floor cleanliness, even the echo in the stalls. My buddy used it to plan his whole cross country move, avoiding any stop below a C grade.
