Hot take: old marble countertop forums beat any modern home repair sub for fixing a burn mark
Took me 2 hours of sanding with the wrong grit in my kitchen in Philly because every current thread says to use a polishing compound first. Then a 2009 forum post from some retired jeweler in Ohio said to hit it with a 400 grit wet paper before anything else, which actually worked on the first try. Has anyone else hit a wall where the newer sites just make things worse, or am I the only one digging through decade-old archives now?

The 2009 jeweler dude sounds like he saved your countertop AND your sanity, honestly. I tried a YouTube video that swore by a Magic Eraser and it just left a weird haze, so now I'm convinced Google's algorithm is actively hiding the good stuff. Old forum guys were way too bored and specific to be wrong.
