Thought PVA glue was a shortcut for beginners, a guy in Portland changed my mind
For 12 years I only used hide glue on spines because that is what my first boss taught me. Then a binder named Ray showed me his 8 year old notebooks held together with PVA and they were still flexible, no cracking at the hinges. I switched last spring and honestly the stuff holds up fine for most everyday rebinding work. Anyone else made the jump or do you still keep hide glue for certain jobs?
