I finally stopped using sticky notes for my book club picks
Used to flag passages in books with neon Post its. Looked like a rainbow exploded. Then my cat ate three of them and I lost my place in chapter 7. Now I just use the notes app on my phone. Has anyone else had their pet ruin their reading system?

Honestly the bigger problem is how sticky notes leave residue on the pages over time. Had a book from 2019 where the tabs turned yellow and left gummy spots that made the text hard to read. Switched to those little plastic flag things from the office supply aisle but they slide around too much. Notes app is just cleaner.

Man oh man, you guys are really making this into a bigger deal than it needs to be, right? Like yeah, sticky notes leave residue if you leave them on for years, but who's out here keeping book club picks from 2019 and still caring about the gummy spots? That's like getting mad at an old receipt for fading in your wallet. And @xena_taylor64, I get that the plastic flags slide around, but come on, that's just part of the fun of having a system that works for now. If your cat ate your tabs, that's a pet problem not a paper problem. I just rip a corner off a piece of scratch paper and jam it in the spine, works fine until I finish the chapter.
