Had to pick between a 3/4 inch and 1 inch tube sheet hole for a small boiler repair
The original specs were gone, so I measured the old tube wall and went with the 1 inch to give a bit more clearance for rolling. It sealed up tight on the first pressure test, no leaks at all. Has anyone else had to guess on a hole size and how did it turn out?

How much extra clearance did you end up with?

I had to guess on a condenser job last year and went a full 1/16 over. Rolled in fine and held 250 psi no problem. Sometimes that little extra room saves a ton of hassle.

That reminds me of the time my buddy over-torqued a flange by accident. Thing still sealed up perfectly and saved him a whole afternoon of rework.
