Found a stat about boiler explosions that made me rethink everything
I was looking up something unrelated on the NFPA website last night and stumbled on a fact that stopped me cold. Over 30% of boiler incidents are caused by low water cutoff failures, like someone just not checking them. I've been guilty of skipping that check when I'm in a hurry. How often do you guys actually pull and clean those float chambers.

Nah, those things are basically bulletproof if you blow them down weekly.

Depends on how often actually blows down vs how often you're just out there clearing it. If your week gets busy and you skip one round of blowing, you're suddenly dealing with clumps that hold moisture and start rotting. Is it really that bulletproof if missing a single week turns it into a whole project?
