Found a better way to sort game pieces with ice cube trays

I got tired of losing tiny tokens from my copy of Scythe, which has like 200 pieces. I tried those plastic organizer inserts but they never fit right. Then my wife handed me a couple dollar store ice cube trays and I just sorted everything into the compartments. Works way better than any official organizer I've used. Anyone else repurpose random stuff for storage?

Heard about this on a podcast a while back actually, some board game designer mentioned using muffin tins for storing all the little bits from Terraforming Mars. Ice cube trays make sense too since they're smaller and stack easier. My only hesitation would be if the plastic is flimsy enough that a bump sends everything flying, but for a buck you can't really go wrong. Might pick a couple up myself for the smaller pieces in my collection.
