Brought a simple card game to a family picnic and it turned into a four-hour event
I grabbed a copy of 'The Crew' thinking it would be a quick 20-minute thing between burgers. My aunt, who never plays games, got super into it and started planning moves three tricks ahead. We ended up playing through the whole mission log, and people skipped dessert to keep going. Has anyone else had a 'light' game completely take over a gathering like that?

Love when a simple game unlocks that competitive family spirit. It stops being about the rules and becomes about the shared focus, which is pretty rare. Those unplanned marathon sessions create the best memories.

Wesleyw46 is right about that shared focus, it's like the game just disappears. We had that with Skull, just a few beer coasters and everyone trying to bluff. My quiet cousin turned into a poker-faced liar and we played until the sun came up. It stops being a game and becomes this weird group mind thing where you're all locked in together.
