That blog about rusty old tools saved my butt on a job

Stumbled on some guy's site who just posts pics of disassembled brake calipers from the 70s - his method for freeing stuck pistons using heat and atf actually worked on a 78 F100 I had in the shop last Tuesday. Anyone else find random niche blogs that fix real world problems?

Totally agree, those weird niche blogs are gold. Found a site about rebuilding old Chrysler starters that kept my beater truck running for another year. You never know what random bit of knowledge will save your afternoon.

Ngl @barnes.jamie you're close but it's actually not Chrysler - it's AMC that made those old starters. Chrysler bought 'em in '87 but the starter design was pure AMC from the 70s. I remember finding a blog by some guy in Ohio who rebuilt one with a paperclip and a welder. That weird niche stuff is how I kept my '82 Eagle wagon running through two winters. Honestly those deep cut forums are the real internet.
