Question about finding a blog that posts once every 3 weeks and is always worth it
I keep a little list of blogs nobody reads and one of them is a guy in Finland who writes about old hand tools. He posts once every 3 weeks, sometimes longer, and last Tuesday he put up a 900 word thing about sharpening a card scraper that I read 4 times. That one post made my whole week better than any site that posts daily. The weird part is I found him by clicking a link on a defunct forum from 2008 that only had 12 members. I don't know how long he'll keep going. Does anyone else have a blog like that where the long gaps are part of why you like it?
Wait, old forum from 2008 with 12 members? That part blows my mind. Those tiny dead forums are like time capsules, and the fact that one link from there led you to a guy in Finland writing about card scrapers is wild. I read a 900 word post about sharpening something I don't even own like 3 times before, so I get it.
Man, this is exactly how the internet works now and nobody talks about it! Everything is connected in these weird little chains, like you look up one thing and six clicks later you're reading a blog about fixing lawn mowers from a guy in Ohio. Same thing happens with YouTube, I went looking for a recipe once and ended up watching a 40 minute video about restoring old tractors. @eric_price you nailed it with the time capsule thing, those dead forums are like finding a note in a bottle. The rabbit holes are endless and honestly that is the best part of being online.
