I don't buy the hype around perfect anvil faces.

Just finished a project on my dented anvil and it turned out awesome. Sometimes I think we blame tools instead of our own skill.

My anvil's face looks like the moon and it works fine.

Honestly, my main anvil has a serious dip in the middle. I just work around it and focus on my hammer control. The piece still comes out straight.
