I was a diehard The Office fan until my friend at work finally wore me down

For years I refused to watch anything else. I rewatched The Office on repeat probably 7 or 8 times. My buddy Jen at my job kept telling me I was missing out on Parks and Rec. I kept telling her it looked too cheesy and fake. Last month I finally gave in and started season one. I gotta admit the first season was rough but by season two I was hooked. Now I'm halfway through season four and I actually like it better than The Office now. The characters feel more like real people you'd want to hang out with. Has anyone else switched teams between these two shows and regretted not doing it sooner?

Three episodes into season three of Parks and Rec is when it clicked for me. I actually texted Jen at 11pm and said "you were right." @baker.phoenix mentioned Ron Swanson and for real that guy is one of the best written characters ever. The thing that finally got me was how the show doesn't rely on awkward cringe humor as much. The Office made me feel embarrassed for people but Parks and Rec just makes me laugh. My advice is to push through season one if you're struggling because it's worth it. And once you finish the whole series go back and watch The Office again, it feels different after.

Same thing happened to me. I was a diehard Office guy, watched it front to back like four times. My roommate kept pushing Parks and Rec on me and I kept brushing it off. Finally gave in one slow weekend and now I straight up like it more. The characters in Parks and Rec grow on you way deeper than the Office ones do. Like I love Jim and Pam but Leslie and Ben hit different. And Ron Swanson is just a masterpiece of a character. I wish I would have listened sooner too.
