Vent: customer insisted on a 2x drivetrain conversion, then blamed me for the shifting issues

Guy brings in a 2015 gravel bike with a worn 1x setup, demands I switch it to 2x because his buddy said it's better for climbing. I warned him the rear derailleur cage was too short for the bigger cassette, but he said do it anyway. Two weeks later he's back complaining about ghost shifting, and I had to eat the labor cost to make it right. Anyone else had a customer ignore your call and still expect a free fix?
