TIL a zip tie through your brake cable housing can save a bleed kit headache

Was swapping out old Jagwire cables on my road bike last night and got a kink halfway through the housing, so I threaded a thin zip tie through the whole thing to fish the cable straight and it worked perfectly, has anyone else found random household fixes that beat actual bike tools?

Did you try using a paperclip bent into a hook first? I once spent 20 minutes trying to get a cable through an internally routed frame before I remembered I had a vacuum cleaner with a skinny attachment - taped a string to it and sucked it right through. My workbench looks like a hardware store threw up on it, zip ties, shoelaces, a bent spoke I use as a pick, you name it. Half the time I'm just making stuff up as I go and hoping it holds.
