Rant: Paid $300 for a pellet smoker and it died after 8 cooks
I picked up a mid-range pellet grill in March for a brisket run in Kansas City, worked great for about a month, then the auger jammed right before a big family cookout. Customer service wants me to ship it back at $80 out of pocket, which basically covers a cheap offset setup. Anyone else get burned by pellet smoker repairs, or should I just go back to charcoal?

Wait, did you actually try clearing the jam yourself? Nine times out of ten it's just some dust or a bad pellet that swelled up in the auger, and five minutes with a shop vac gets you back in business. Dropping 80 bucks to ship a 300 dollar grill back is nuts when a little elbow grease usually does the trick.
