Did a backyard brisket vs my offset smoker and the cheap kettle won

I got sick of babying my offset for 14 hours last weekend just to get a dry flat. So I said screw it and threw a brisket on my old 22 inch Weber kettle with the snake method instead. Set it up at 225-250 and barely touched it for 10 hours total. The bark came out better and the point was way juicier than anything I've pulled off the offset lately. Cost nothing extra since I already had the charcoal and wood chunks laying around. Has anyone else ditched their fancy rig for a basic kettle and gotten better results?

Man, now I gotta go apologize to my kettle for ignoring it all these years while I was trying to be some kind of pitmaster with my offset. Guess the real fancy rig was the one sitting in the corner getting dusty this whole time.

Dusted off my old kettle last month and honestly never looked back at the offset.
