Watching a basement show in 2011 made me stop chasing perfect takes
I was at this DIY spot in Allston, MA, some house venue with a drum kit held together by duct tape. The band's singer hit a wrong note mid-song, laughed into the mic, and they kept rolling. Crowd didn't care, it felt alive. I spent the next three years obsessing over punch-ins and tuning everything to death, but that memory stuck. Has anyone else had a rough live moment that actually sounded better than their clean studio version? I'm wondering if I should stop editing out those little flaws.
