I mean, it looks cool for the shop vibe but idk, maybe it's just me but if you're not gonna actually use the tool, it feels like you're selling a story instead of the craft.

Wait, isn't the vibe and the story PART of the craft now? For a lot of people, getting a haircut is about the whole experience, not just the tool in the barber's hand. That straight razor sets a mood and shows respect for the history. As long as the haircut itself is good, the display is just a cool bit of decoration.

Yeah, totally get that. It's like hanging up a fancy chef's knife but only cooking with plastic cutters. The whole point of the old tools is the skill it takes to use them. If it's just for looks, it makes the whole shop feel a bit like a theme park version of a real barbershop.
