My 1997 garage door opener worked better after I wired it wrong on purpose
Everyone on here keeps saying you should never mess with the safety sensors on a garage door opener, but last month I got curious after mine kept reversing on its own for no reason. I unplugged the two wires from the sensor eyes and crossed them, just to see what would happen, and the door has run perfect for 5 weeks now. My neighbor Dave watched me do it and swore I was gonna crush my cat, but the cat is fine and the door is fine. Sometimes the "right" way is the thing that keeps breaking, not the wires. Has anyone else fixed something by doing the exact thing the manual says not to do?
