Thought my fiber optic internet install would take 30 minutes, nope

Called Xfinity to get hooked up at my new place in Denver, and the guy on the phone swore it'd be a quick 30 minute job. Three hours later he's drilling through my wall and pulling cable from a box two blocks away because the existing line was dead. Anyone else have a utility tech massively underestimate how long something would take?

Did they even check the line before they came out?

Right, that's the thing. If they did a proper pre-trip inspection they would've seen the line was blown or had a bad connection. Probably just rolled up, hooked it, and went without even looking. That's how you end up with a mess like this.
