Just hit 10,000 hours on my old Singer sewing machine from the 70s

Ngl I found the thread counter hidden in the manual last night and it blew my mind that this thing has outlasted three smartphones and two laptops. Has anyone else checked the hours on their older gear and been shocked?

Honestly, I read somewhere that old gear like that was built to last decades while modern stuff is basically disposable. That sewing machine probably has another 10,000 hours in it easy.

Old Singer machines are tanks. My grandpa had one from the 50s that still runs perfect. Actually makes me think about my dad's old Pioneer turntable from the 80s. He found the hours counter under the platter mat one day. Thing had over 15,000 hours on it and still plays records like new. Now his new Bluetooth speaker died after two years.
