The Google Maps update that erased my hometown's only good shortcut

I was showing my kid where I grew up in Flint, MI and the map didn't even have the old dirt road behind the lumber yard that everyone used to cut over to 75. Took a 15 minute detour in my head just to verify. Has anyone else had a familiar route just vanish from navigation apps like it never existed?

Map apps are like that one buddy who absolutely refuses to admit they took a wrong turn, even when you're both staring at a cornfield. My old cutoff in Flint that saved me from the 75 backup is just gone, poof, like it never happened. I swear I'm not losing my mind, I drove that road for years, but now the app just shows a blank spot where my teenage shortcuts used to live. Maybe the algorithm thinks I've got nothing better to do than sit in traffic and relive my glory days. At least my kid now thinks I'm making up stories about the old days, so that's fun.
