I got bored around 1am last Tuesday and drew the same stupid cartoon frog twice, once with my $6 brush pen and once with a plain Bic that was sitting in a drawer. The brush pen version turned into a smeared blob because I kept bumping it while the ink was still wet, but the ballpoint one looked cleaner and I could actually hatch in the shading without it bleeding. Turns out the cheap pen dries almost instant and the thin line keeps me from overdoing it when I'm half asleep. If you're drawing past midnight, what pen do you grab when you don't want to fight your own hand?
