My $180 polisher died 20 minutes into a full paint correction on a black Accord
Last Saturday in my garage the backing plate just stopped spinning while I was halfway through the hood on a black 2019 Accord, and the smell of burnt motor told me it was done. Everyone on here swears you need a fancy dual action rig for real correction, but I grabbed my old $60 rotary from the shelf that I bought in 2019 and finished the whole car with it. Took me 6 hours and my shoulders are still sore, but the paint came out just as clear with some 3 inch pads and patience. Honestly I think half the gear hype on this sub is guys who never learned proper speed control in the first place. Curious if anyone else still reaches for a rotary when the fancy stuff quits on them?
