Swapped my 3M for a cheaper mask after a bad week of fumes

I always ran the expensive respirator with the pink cartridges, figured nothing else was worth my lungs. Then a supplier mix-up left me with a basic dual strap mask for a week on a nasty Mercedes bumper repair, and my head felt clearer by Thursday. Anyone else notice the pricey gear isnt always the right call, or am I just cheaping out now?
