I finally gave in and tried that PDR glue pull method I always made fun of
Been doing dent repair for 11 years, always thought the glue pull stuff was for amateurs. Then last month I had a quarter panel dent on a 2022 Honda Civic in Green Bay that I couldn't reach from behind no matter what I tried. Got a cheap tab kit from Napa for 30 bucks and it popped out clean in under 10 minutes. Has anyone else here been converting from traditional tools to these newer methods?

That Civic quarter panel is exactly the kind of spot that made me switch (after 8 years of stubbornly refusing to even try glue pulling). My turning point was a 2019 Silverado bed side with a complex crease, and I spent 45 minutes with my long reach tools getting nowhere. The glue tabs popped it about 85% of the way there in maybe 6 pulls, then I finished with light tapping on the high spots. What kind of dent was it, like a door ding or a deeper crease? I'm curious if you've tried the bigger slide hammer style tabs yet, because those are a total game changer for the wider shallow dents that normally need hours of tapping.

The funny thing is I got into this job because of a failed glue pull on my own car back in 2014. My wife backed into a pole in a parking lot, I watched a YouTube video, bought the cheap harbor freight kit, and ended up ripping a chunk of paint off the fender. Had to pay a real shop 400 bucks to fix it. Now here I am recommending glue tabs to other techs. My buddy still won't touch the stuff, calls it blasphemy.
