Took me three snapped cables and a bruised ego before I even looked at synthetic rope. My first lesson was learning that steel cable whips back harder than it snaps forward, which is a fun fact nobody tells you until you're ducking for cover. Now I'm the guy who runs synthetic on everything, even my garage winch that hasn't moved in two years.
