My brother told me to just use my phone for astro pics and I finally proved him wrong
For years, my brother kept saying my old DSLR was too much hassle for night sky stuff and that phone cameras were just as good now. He'd always say, 'Just use your phone, it's fine.' I finally decided to test it out last month during the new moon up near Flagstaff. I took my Canon T6i on a tripod and did a 30 second exposure of the Milky Way, and then tried the same shot with my phone. The phone pic was a noisy, dark mess, just a few blurry stars. The DSLR shot actually looked like the galaxy, with color and detail. It felt so good to have the proof. Has anyone else had a friend or family member give you bad gear advice that you had to just show them the results to end the argument?

Took my dad's point and shoot on a trip once, and the photos looked awful next to my mirrorless shots. He finally got it when I put them side by side on the TV.

My uncle swore his tablet was fine for scanning old photos until I showed him the difference a real scanner makes.
