I just lost $150 on a 'quick fix' SEO course that promised first page results

I bought a cheap online course last month that said it could get my site to rank in a week. The guy teaching it just read from a script and gave advice that was five years old. I followed his link building tips and my site actually dropped in the search results. Has anyone found a good, honest resource for learning this stuff that actually works now?

Check out Google's own SEO starter guide, it's free and actually updated.

Ranking a website is a long game, not a magic trick. Those quick fix promises are always too good to be true. Maybe just focus on making good content for your visitors instead.
