Hot take: I used to think you could ask anything online and get a real answer

Last week, I asked a forum for help fixing my sink and got three replies that were just jokes. Then I tried the 'Ask Anything' community here, and someone from Milwaukee gave me step-by-step instructions with pictures. I followed them on Tuesday and my sink hasn't leaked since. It made me see that the right place matters more than just throwing a question out there. Has anyone else found a specific spot online where people actually give useful answers?

Honestly, I've asked tech questions so dumb that the only helpful reply would be a link to a time machine. It really is about finding the right niche forum where people actually care about the topic. My old car's fan club forum has saved me thousands.

But @robert275, those niche forums can be total echo chambers that give you bad advice because everyone loves the same old thing.
