Tried using a metal detector in my own backyard and found a 1917 wheat penny

I finally got that cheap Bounty Hunter metal detector I'd been eyeing and figured I'd start with my own yard in Columbus, Ohio before hitting any parks. After about 20 minutes of digging up old bottle caps and nails, I got a solid signal near my back fence and pulled out a 1917 Lincoln wheat penny. It's pretty worn down but you can still see the date clearly. Anyone else find something old right under their nose like that?

Wait, you found a 1917 penny in your own backyard in Columbus? That's awesome. I live in Cincinnati and found a 1943 steel penny near an old foundation once. It's CRAZY what's been sitting under the dirt for decades.

Oh yeah, just your typical midwestern treasure hunt, dodging rusty nails and old bottle caps for a coin that's worth maybe a buck if you're lucky. Keep digging, you're bound to find a 1918 quarter under a forgotten garden gnome next.
