The Nazca Lines faded way more in the last 30 years than I expected

I was looking at satellite images of the Nazca Lines from the 1990s compared to recent drone shots from 2024, and the difference is wild. The older images show the geoglyphs as sharp, clear lines in the desert, but now they look blurry and worn down, especially the hummingbird and the monkey. Some researchers say it's from increased foot traffic and vehicle tracks, while others blame changing weather patterns bringing more moisture. Do you think the main cause is human activity or climate shift, and should we be covering them up to protect them?

Ngl the blurred monkey lines got me curious, how much has vehicle traffic actually increased there?

Bet no one's talking about how the delivery vans are cutting through there now to avoid the new roundabout.
