That restored Roman mosaic in Bath looks TOO clean, and it bugs me

I was at the Bath ruins last month and the new mosaic restoration is honestly stunning, but it's also brighter than my phone screen. My question is, does a perfect restoration actually hurt our sense of history, or should we just accept that some sites are now more theme park than dig? Anyone else feel weird about polished exhibits versus the raw, broken stuff?

The "theme park than dig" part really hit home for me... but here's the thing nobody talks about. When they clean and Polish a mosaic like that, they're also wiping away the dirt that was actually protecting it from air and moisture damage. So the bright look might be a tradeoff, where we get a instant Instagram shot now but the stones could start crumbling twenty years down the road.
