Hit 150 stone tool replicas and realized I had a problem
I count my flintknapping projects for no good reason, but I hit 150 finished pieces last night. That number surprised me because I only started messing around with arrowheads and scrapers about 18 months ago in my garage. Each one teaches me something new about how ancient people worked with stone, you know, like the angle of percussion or heat treatment tricks. Has anyone else tracked their artifact reproductions and gotten a shock from the total?

Yeah but I'm not sure tracking the count is the same as having a problem. Calling it a problem kind of implies something negative, but 150 pieces over 18 months just says you're consistent, not obsessed. Sounds more like you found a solid hobby that keeps teaching you stuff, and that's a good thing in my book.

Totally hear you on this one, it's refreshing to see someone push back against labeling a solid habit as a problem. 150 pieces in 18 months honestly just shows you're dedicated and probably getting better with each one, which is way more important than some arbitrary number. I'm with you 100 percent, consistency like that is something to be proud of, not worried about.
