Rant: Seeing all these new developments in my city cut down mature trees for 'green' spaces.

Replacing old trees with saplings is NOT a win for the environment.

Yeah that "green space" label is such a joke. Those big trees were already working hard cleaning the air and giving us shade. A parking lot with a few new shrubs just can't do the same job for decades, so what's the real plan here?

Honestly, I never really saw the problem before. But now I get that a few shrubs can't replace what those big trees did.
