Had my worst climbing day in 5 years last Tuesday
Was pruning a big red oak in Greenville and the rope got pinched on my ascent. Took me 45 minutes to get down and reset. Then my handsaw slipped and cut my glove clean open. Didn't even make it to lunch before I called it a day. Anyone else have a day where nothing goes right?

Man, that is rough. Sounds like the tree was just out to get you that day. I once spent an hour trying to untangle my own climbing rope from a branch I had accidentally thrown it over. Felt like a complete idiot just hanging there.

A tree is just a tree, it doesn't have intentions. The rope getting tangled is user error, not the tree being "out to get you". You threw the rope poorly, that's on you. How long did it actually take you to figure that out?
