After 12 years of trimming oaks, I finally tried a handsaw for a 6-inch limb

Last Tuesday I had a 6-inch oak limb hanging over a client's driveway in Portland, and my chainsaw was in the shop. I grabbed a $40 Silky handsaw out of the truck and made the cut in under 2 minutes with zero cleanup. Has anyone else found that smaller cuts are actually faster by hand than firing up the saw?

Yeah, I had a similar thing happen last year with a maple limb around that size. I was surprised how clean and quick the handsaw was, no messing with gas or earplugs.

Sliced right through my thumb with one once, totally worth it though.
