Question about a weird fridge compressor burnout I saw in a 1980s apartment building
The unit had a failed start device, but the overload was still intact, which I've only seen twice before. Anyone run into a similar failure pattern and have a theory on the root cause?

That 1980s wiring could have been the culprit. Seen a few like that myself.

Yeah, seen a few like that. I mean, at this point I'm surprised when 80s wiring doesn't try to burn the place down.
