Honestly thought OEM parts were a rip-off until last Tuesday
I always went with the cheap off-brand belts for dryers, figured why pay double. But a guy I ran into at the supply house in Columbus talked me into trying a genuine Frigidaire belt on a job, and it took half the time to install because the fit was actually perfect. Has anyone else had a bad experience with aftermarket parts that made you switch?

Wow, nobody's mentioned how aftermarket parts sometimes skip the little engineering tweaks that make assembly easier the second time around. A belt that's a hair too tight or a bracket that doesn't quite line up can turn a 20-minute job into an hour of frustration (ask me how I know). That perfect factory fit really does cut down on the cussing, even if it costs more upfront.

Yeah aftermarket stuff might look the same in the catalog but it's always a little off. Had a water inlet valve for a Whirlpool washer that was supposed to be a direct replacement. Took me three tries to get the hose clamp to seat right because the plastic housing was slightly thicker. That kind of hassle ain't worth saving fifteen bucks.
