That moment I realized I was skipping the OP for no reason

I used to skip every opening theme for like 5 years, thought they were just filler before the real show. Then I watched episode 12 of a show I can't name, and the OP suddenly had new lyrics and visuals that tied into the plot twist from the previous episode. I went back and checked, turns out 3 other shows I watched had OP changes that hinted at character deaths or reveals I totally missed. I felt like an idiot for not paying attention to something so obvious in hindsight. Has anyone else had a similar wake-up call about a series staple you ignored?

Honestly never gave OPs a second thought until one spoiled a death for me.
