Realized I was skipping the wrong intro sequences on Crunchyroll

I've been watching anime for like 5 years and always skipped every intro. Then last month I was watching Frieren and accidentally let the first intro play. That song and the visuals actually set up the whole mood of the episodes. Now I force myself to watch at least the first intro of any new series I start. It sounds dumb but it changed how I get into a show. Anyone else have a habit they changed that actually improved their watching experience?

My husband and I had the same thing happen with the ending credits of all things. We used to skip them every time until we watched "A Place Further Than the Universe" and the credits had these gorgeous pastel illustrations that showed what the characters were doing after each episode. Now we let the credits roll at least once per series to see if there's extra content. It's made me appreciate how much thought goes into those transitions.

i mean yeah the art was nice and all but calling it "appreciating the thought" makes it sound way deeper than it is lol. credits are literally just credits, they're designed to be skipped because nobody wants to sit through a list of names unless the song slaps. i've skipped every ending credit of every anime i've watched for the past 10 years and i doubt i'm missing any life-changing content. you're acting like they're some kind of hidden art gallery when really it's just the studio filling time. feels like people overthink this stuff way too much.
