Question about sub vs dub timing in fight scenes
I've been noticing something in the last few months when I rewatch Naruto with friends. The dub version seems to have fights that last longer because the voice actors pause between lines. But the sub version has quicker back and forth during the same scenes. I timed it on the Sasuke vs Itachi fight from episode 138. The dub took 3 minutes and 22 seconds for the dialogue part. The sub did it in 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Does the extra time in the dub hurt the pacing or help build tension? I think it throws off the rhythm for me. Has anyone else noticed this difference between sub and dub timing on specific episodes?

Does the same thing happen with like movie trailers where the pauses feel way longer than they actually are? It reminds me of how some people talk slow in real life to seem more serious, and the dub kinda does that same thing with those dramatic pauses lol.

Nah, I actually think the pauses make the dub feel more natural, not forced.
