My little cousin called my favorite anime 'mid' and it actually made sense
We were hanging out at my place last weekend and I put on the first episode of Trigun Stampede. I was hyping it up, saying how the animation was insane. He watched for like 10 minutes, then just shrugged and said 'It looks cool but the main guy is just doing the same edgy loner thing. It's kinda mid.' I got defensive at first, but later I realized he's right, a lot of new shows just copy old character types without adding anything. It made me question why I even like some of the stuff I watch. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple comment from someone totally changed how you see an anime?

Remember liking something for the vibe even if the parts feel familiar.

My 1998 Honda Civic had that effect. The radio only got AM stations and the heater smelled like old leaves, but driving it felt like being in a specific, quiet pocket of the world. The vibe was its own complete thing, separate from the worn-out parts.
