I finally watched the first episode of 'Gundam: The Witch from Mercury' after my friend in Chicago said it was 'just a space school show' and was completely blindsided by the ending.

I went in expecting a chill slice-of-life and got a corporate assassination instead, so what's another show that completely subverts its first-episode premise?

Isn't that just most shows trying to get your attention, @faith_schmidt? Like that one where it seemed like a simple lawyer drama, then boom, it's all about a cartel and murder. Feels like a cheap trick to me, not some deep change. They just want you to keep watching past the first boring episode.
