Seriously, the craziest one I saw blew up over a single filler line in a beach episode. Somebody insisted the dub's joke was culturally insensitive, and it turned into this whole thing about translation ethics. People were getting personal attacks over a five-second scene of a character misplacing their sunscreen. It stopped being about the show at all, just people yelling about who was a "real fan." That level of anger over something so small was just wild to watch. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but it felt like watching a fandom civil war in a teacup.
